Whatley Family

The family moved to Badbury in 1883 when Samuel Horder Whatley started farming on his own account. Despite his great knowledge of arable farming he started a small dairy, in conjunction with arable crops.

The house still stands today and is occupied by a descendant of  Samuel Horder Whatley.

The Whatley's of Badbury outside the Family Farm near Chiseldon, Wiltshire. The picture was taken in about 1891.

Samuel Horder Whatley married to Elizabeth (nee Fry) with children, Mary Elizabeth Silvia, Charles William, Emma, Kathleen Helena,
Selena Clara, Ebenezer Samuel, Julia, Harry, Ernest, Walter Tom, Margueritte Janet & Norman Leslie.
